My business operations ceased during the year, am I still obligated to file an Income Tax Return For

Yes, you should file your Tax return up to the date of closure of your business. Before closing ensure that you inform the Inland Revenue Division in writing of the following:
  • Name of the business
  • Effective date of the closure
  • Clearly state whether or not there is a possibility of reopening the business.

What exemptions am I entitled to under the various Acts?

There are a variety of exemptions under the different Acts, the sections on the individual tax types indicates the cases that are exemptible.

What is SIGTAS?

SIGTAS is the abbreviation for Standard Integrated Government Tax Administration System. This is the computerized accounting system used at the Inland Revenue. The Government of Grenada in conjunction with the Canadian Government and the Eastern Caribbean Management Programmed instituted this programme in Grenada in 1988. The primary objectives are to improve efficiency and enhance revenue collection.
